Michael Bean Named 2007 Seacoast REALTOR of the Year
PORTSMOUTH - The Seacoast Board of Realtors named Michael Bean, owner of the
Michael Bean Group, as its 2007 Realtor of the Year.
The awards were presented at the Seacoast Board of REALTORS' annual Realtor of
the Year luncheon at the Portsmouth Country Club on Friday, June 8.
Bean, recognized as a local pioneer in Internet marketing, is a director of the
Seacoast board. He serves as the board's representative to the Northern New
England Real Estate Network, the New Hampshire MLS system.
Signature Title vice president Monique Shevlin won Affiliate of the Year honors.
Shevlin, now a two-time Affiliate of the Year honoree, co-chairs the board's
education committee and has also served on the affiliates and community service
committees. She is involved with more than 10 different charitable
organizations.
Four local students were named Robert R. Cushing Memorial Scholarship
recipients, each winning a $1,000 scholarship. Elisa Loeser and Sam Glennon of
Portsmouth High School will attend Mt. Holyoke College and Brandeis University
respectively. Christopher Hsieh, Exeter High School, is attending Boston
University, and Matthew Cyr, Newmarket High School, will enroll at Massachusetts
Maritime Academy.
Twenty Realtors and affiliates were named to the New Hampshire Association of
Realtors Honor Society. Pamela Ziadeh, Warranty Title, and Pam Blowen, Precision
Title Services, who were both Affiliate of the Year nominees, are first-year
Affiliate Honor Society members, while Lynn McClaren, Stewart Title of Northern
New England, is a fifth-year member.
Among Realtors, Julie Dufault, the Michael Bean Group, was the lone first-year
Honor Society member and Sol Negm, also a nominee for Realtor of the Year, is
second-year member. Three-year members, both from Buyers Brokers of the
Seacoast, are Patricia Chalpin and Carolyn McGee.
May Youngclaus, also a Realtor of the Year nominee, earns 10-year recognition.
Joe Hunkins, Hunkins Real Estate, and Kathy Walsh, Coldwell Banker Walsh Real
Estate, are 11-year members.
Cathy Youngs won the Affiliate Wine raffle extravaganza, which included more
than 70 bottles of wine donated by Realtors and Affiliates. That event raised
more than $6,000 for the board's Charity of Choice, Seacoast Youth Services, as
well as other affiliate-sponsored events.
